Hearts & Roses:
    • Floral Foam - White & Pink
    • Heart shape cookie cutter
    • Big Glass Vase
    • Small Roses in White and Pink
    • Knife
This is how you do it:
    1.  Take the Pink floral foam and cut them into several 2" inch thick pieces
    2.  Then with your heart shaped cookie cutter cut out the hearts
    3.  Out of the White floral foam cut several small 1" x 1" cubes
    4.  Soak the Pink hearts and the White cubes in water
    5.  Take the Pink hearts and the White cubes and stack them into your vase
    6.  Add a bit more water
    7.  Then take your pretty small Roses and arrange them neatly in your vase,
    8.  Don't forget to cut the steam with your knife

Squeaky Clean Hearts:
    • Glycerin Soap & your favorite smelling left over soap pieces

    • Heart shaped Cookie Cutter
    • Candle Wick
    • Toothpicks

    • Aluminum foil

This is how you do it:
    1. Melt the candle wax in hot water - use separate pots/cans depending on your colors
    2. Place your cookie cutter on top of the aluminum foil, press down hard so the wax doesn't leak out of the bottom
    3. Pour the melted wax into the cookie cutters
    4. Let it harden just a little bit then place the candle wick in the center of the cookie cutter - use the toothpick in order to keep the candle wick in place
    5. Let everything cool down
    6. Push the wax out of the cookie cutter
    7. Fill your large glass bowl with water and arrange the heart shaped candles with your flower petals

Sweet Hearts of Sugar:
    • White Sugar
    • Green Food color (or Pink ,.... or Red)
    • Heart shaped ice cube tray (Silicon**)
    • Spoon
    • Small Bowl
This is how you do it:
    1. Mix the sugar with a small amount of water, just enough so it is sticky but not too much so it will melt the sugar (for 200 g sugar ca. 1 tsp water)
    2. Mix thoroughly
    3. Take part of the sugar and add a few drops of the food color, keep steering until you are happy with the color
    4. Remember -> The color will be lighter once the sugar is dry
    5. Take the Sugar "sauce" and pour it into the Ice cube tray
    6. Push everything down really well
    7. Let it dry over night
* Happy Super Mommy's Day *

SUPER GAMER STATUS...

NOT REQUIRED...

I have to say when it comes to interior design requests from new customers
the unusual ones are always the ones that are my all time favorites
I especially like the ones involving the rather mysterious yet very exciting
"Video Gaming World"....

Of course any unusual request that comes my way requires a bit more research
Well and in the case of researching this Video Gaming World
often it involves asking those youngens a lot of questions, after all they claim to be the "wise ones" when it comes to that area... and for once I actually have to agree with them!

Anyway, I have done so much research recently that I wouldn't be surprised if...
I were abducted by one of those "Star Wars" ships...
just as long as I remember to jump ship on "Halo"...
"lay low and wait" for my rescue by none other then the
rugged yet handsome "Marcus Fenix" and his  "Gears of War" Team

OK OK... enough with the silliness...

During my research I happen to find a few really cool home decor ideas and believe it or not some I actually recognized right away!

If you ask me I think they are a must have for any "Super Gamer -> Gone addict"

Ready ... Set... Pillow fight ....

Everybody loves pillows... well I do ..... the more the better :)
Here a few pillow ideas that you can very easy make yourself and have fun doing so.....

Pretty Butterfly Pillow

Rather than spend a fortune on designer pillows, make this easy-sew butterfly pillow from fabric remnants or embellishments. Here, an ordinary aqua accent pillow takes flight with pretty felt cutouts.

Felt Applique Pillows

Make purchased pillows look like designer originals by decorating them with felt shapes.  Cut felt into interesting designs, such as blades of grass or flowers and leaves, and then attach them with fabric glue.

Ribbon Pillow

Turning a plain pillow into a piece of art is as simple as adding a few cents' worth of ribbon. Lay the ribbon in an interesting design, pin it in place, and then attach it with fusible web.

Neck Roll Towel Pillow

This neck roll pillow is simple to stitch. Fold a hand towel in half lengthwise and sew about 1 inch in from each corner. Pin a fabric circle into each end and sew in place. Finally, turn the towel right side out and insert a pillow form into the envelope like opening.

Lace Pillow

Glam up inexpensive pillows with lace ribbons and trim, available by the yard at fabrics stores. Hand-stitch the lace to pillow fronts or adhere it carefully with fabrics glue.

Place Mat Pillow

Making pillows is a snap when you use a patterned two-ply place mat as your fabric. Cut a slit through one layer of fabric along the top back of the mat and stuff with batting, leaving the top few inches empty. Fold over the top flap and secure it with a button and a ribbon tie.

Iron on transfer Pillow

Embellish a store-bought pillow using transfer paper. (Transfer paper works best on cotton fabric.) Using your computer, design and print a letter, number, or other motif to the desired size. Scan quilt fabric and print it onto fabric transfer paper (or ask a copy shop to copy the design onto transfer paper). Trace your printed design onto the transfer paper and cut it out. Remove the pillow form, then transfer the image to the pillow following the manufacturer's instructions. Replace the pillow form

Die-Cut Felt Pattern Pillow

Re-create expensive designer looks on the cheap using unexpected items. Dress up plain cotton pillows by attaching die-cut felt place mats using fabric glue.

Compliments of  Better Home & Garden

How about giving the "Old Shady" one...

... a brand spanking "New Look"

I am sure somewhere in your attic or basement you got one of those old and ugly lamps stashed away... and that poor ugly lamp is just waiting for you to find it so you can bring it back to live with a little paint and some beautiful fabric...

*****
All you need is....

  • That "Old Shady Lamp"
  • Your favorite Printed Cotton Fabric
  • Spray Glue for Fabric
  • Black Satin Paint
  • Velvet Ribbon
  • Double-Sided Tape
  • Ruler, Fabric Marker, Scissors, Paint Brush, Clothespins
  • Sandpaper (for Metal)
 >>>>><<<<<
Dress her up...

Place the fabric face down on a table...
then take the lamp shade using your ruler as guide make several marks where the fabric needs to be cut in order to fit the lamp shade - cut the fabric to size...

Make it stick...

Next... apply your spray glue to the back of your fabric... wait a few seconds, then press the fabric firmly around the shade -
take the clothespins and temporarily secure the fabric to the shade.
Now take the double sided tape and apply it to the back of the velvet ribbon... place the ribbon to the top and bottom edge of the shade...

 From Color to finish...

Take the sandpaper and slightly sand down the base of your lamp...
next apply two coats of the black sating paint... let everything dry

 Voila... All done
